Valor Award Medal of Merit

Congratulations to the men and women of the Hogansville Police Department on receiving the Troup County Valor Awards Medal of Merit for 2016. HPD in partnership with Callaway High School and Hogansville Elementary School collected over 2500 canned goods and provided meals to over 500 people in the community.

BEGINNING LATE MONDAY EVENING, SEPTEMBER 11TH THE HOGANSVILLE AREA CAN BEGIN TO EXPERIENCE SOME OF THE EFFECTS OF HURRICANE IRMA. BASED ON THE PROPOSED TRACK OF THE SYSTEM OUR COMMUNITY COULD EXPERIENCE HEAVY RAINS, SUSTAINED AND GUSTY WIND CONDITIONS, SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS AND FLOODING. THESE CONDITIONS COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF POWER, DOWNED TREES AND IMPASSIBLE / CLOSED STREETS AND ROADS. THE CITY OF HOGANSVILLE WILL BE WORKING WITH TROUP COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PERSONNEL TO ENSURE THE BEST POSSIBLE RESPONSE IS PROVIDED.

THE HOGANSVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT HAS INITIATED PREPLANNING STEPS TO ENSURE CITY PERSONNEL CAN RESPOND TO SITUATIONS IN THE CITY DURING THIS EVENT.

Chief Hilton Odom Passes Away

James Hilton Odom, retired Chief of Police passed away on June 28, 2017 at his home in Hogansville. Chief Odom retired from HPD in 2002 after serving for over 35 years in law enforcement with LaGrange P.D. and Hogansville P.D.

The thoughts and prayers of the men and women of the Hogansville Police Department are with Chief Odom's family.

False Report of a Child Struck by a car

On May 25, 2017 a Facebook post appeared indicating a 10 year old child was critically injured in the parking lot of the McDonalds in Hogansville. THIS REPORT IS COMPLETELY FALSE. Verification with Troup County 911 and AMR by the Hogansville Police Department verified there has been no such incident.

National Night Out 2016

The tentative date for the 2016 National Night Out has been set for Friday, September 9th, 2016 at Hogansville Elementary School from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

National Night Out 2015

Come out and join the Hogansville Police Department for National Night Out scheduled for August 4, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm in Hendrix Stadium at Hogansville Elementary School. Fireworks Law and Information

Effective July 1, 2015, Georgia law on fireworks go into effect. Here is some helpful information concerning the discharge of fireworks in the City of Hogansville.

January 1st,

July 3rd,

July 4th, and

December 31st -

from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.

All other dates - 10:00 a.m. to midnight

Fireworks cannot be exploded within 100 yards of a nuclear power facility or a gas station, or facility that refines, processes, or blends gasoline.

The discharge of fireworks that occurs outside the specified hours as defined in the state law may be enforced as violations of the City of Hogansville Noise Ordinance,

Sec. 54-1. - Noise prohibitions.

(a) General prohibition. It shall be unlawful for any person to make, continue, or cause to be made or continued any loud, unnecessary or unusual noise or any noise which either annoys, disturbs, injures or endangers the comfort, repose, health, peace or safety of others, within the city.

Please be considerate of your neighbors and your community when discharging fireworks and please be safe.

The Hogansville Police Department Garden is growing again! We have planted tomatoes, pepper, squash, cabbage, cucumbers, and zucchini to name a few. These vegetables are donated to God's Bread Basket and the Hogansville Senior Center.
